Maybe you've noticed that our domain name has nothing to do with our church's name. Where does that come from? What's the deal? Here's the scoop, as you can see from our nifty screen shot of Google maps, God has placed our church smack in the middle of our town.
That means most people who live in Ferris or do business in Ferris pass our campus almost on a daily basis. But being the centerpoint church isn't just about location. It's a mentality. It's recognizing that just as Jesus called individuals with much to care for the "least of these," churches to whom Jesus has given much are expected to be about more than just themselves. To be the centerpoint church of a community is a willingness to use the resources God has given us not just for our own good but for the good of the community.
We believe man's greatest need is salvation, forgiveness of sin and reconciliation with God through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. We believe the bible is the authoritative Word of God and treat it that way as we preach through books of the bible a few verses at a time. We stand with Jesus in saying the greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind (Matt 22:37). When many diverse people with competing interests come together in biblical love, it causes the heavens to shout and the world to take notice! Thus, we also stand with Jesus in saying that the second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself. We believe God's plan for each church is to reconcile diverse people of all sorts for His glory.
In short, being a centerpoint church is being a reconciling church, reconciling people to God and to one another.
It is our goal that Ferris would be a better community in which to live based in part on our ministry here!
